The amount of rubbish in cubic yards is the basis for pricing. Depending on the type of truck or trailer, some companies will price per 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, and full truck/trailer.

Open trailers may not hold quite as much but they are faster to load and unload. Dump trailers make unloading even easier. For this reason companies will add additional hourly labor on top of the volume fee that covers the general pick up, haul away, disposal fee, and other normal business expenses like insurance, fuel, and equipment maintenance. Many customers, to save money, and if able, will have their rubbish in a pile close to the street or in the driveway.
Sometimes you may have only one or two smaller items that need to get hauled away. This won’t meet the requirements for the volume pricing, so in order to cover business expenses companies must charge a minimum fee. These fees typically start around $125 and can go up from there based on your location and proximity to the recycling center.
Larger items like major household appliances (stove, washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, fridge, etc) will have flat fees that cover the haul away of these items. Mattresses, box springs. and larger furniture will also fall under this category. Set fees can range anywhere from $75-$150.
